A generation or two ago the old folks used to tell us then youngsters that listening to music too loud would damage our hearing and when we got older would require the use of hearing aids just to get by. Here we all are years later and I’ve lost count on how many family members are now using hearing aids and have Hearing Impaired Telephones in the Home. But was this really damage from the 1960’s or have we all just gotten older? One would assume the latter because elderly folks losing their hearing, and sight, and all sorts of other things that fade away or start to pack up are nothing new to this generation. Still, it’s lovely to be able to shop for all these new products. Technology and innovation has given us better eye glasses, superior hearing devices, and all sorts of things that makde getting older much less of an ordeal. And even if your hearing does get so bad that it’s no longer possible to use the phone, we can always keep in touch via the internet. Online tools such as emails, video, and photo sharing has really helped folks in their twilight years.
