I had always purchased my books through a book club or at a bookstore. Of course, you pay pretty high prices in those locations, so it was time to start to look outside the box. I soon discovered that the public library that I’d been donating books to holds an annual sale for the public. They would take duplicates off of their shelves or books that were no longer in demand, and sell them. The first time that I attended the public book sale, I found so many cheap books that I thought that I had won the lottery. Most of the books were selling for less than one dollar each. I walked out of there with dozens and dozens of cheap books. The best part about purchasing these cheap books was knowing that the proceeds were going right back to the library.
