Formal Answering Machine Messages are becoming a thing of the past as the workplace lightens up and adopts a more casual approach to doing business.  This is especially true in e-Business where you will often get a quirky message which fits in with its casual culture. There are still many occasions where a formal answering message is appropriate such as the doctors surgery (nothing funny perky about ill health right!), or government offices who wouldn’t dare to lighten up with their answering messages.  But maybe that’s just it, maybe the world needs to lighten up a bit and rid itself of all this stiff and formalness that often makes folks feel afraid and inferior.
