Clothing is one of the biggest ways teens identify with who they are. Some children come from wealthy homes, and they can have the latest styles and expensive wardrobes. Other children have no choice to but to shop where the clothing is very cheap. This is a huge weapon some teens use against each other, and is a major form of passive aggressive bullying. School uniforms eliminate this all the way around. It won’t help after school, but it won’t be a distraction while classes are in session. School uniforms have long been something that those in private schools wear, but more and more public school systems are using them for a variety of reasons.
