April 30th, 2008 by bettyIn 1986, the American Heart Association issued new guidelines suggesting that healthy adults reduce their consumption of fat to 30 percent of total calories and limit cholesterol intake to 300 mg per day or 100 mg per 1000 calories, whichever is less (3.5 ounces of squid or octopus have 300 mg cholesterol). Cooking with Oils All cooking oil manufactures have claims that their cooking oil is the best to use. Vegetable, peanut oil, canola oil, sunflower, olive, coconut, and even butter all have their place in any kitchen because they will all add a different flavor to any dish. One thing that must also be considered is how healthy is using the different type of oil.
