Women who have bacterial vaginosis may not even know what they have. It was noted that many women who have this type of vaginitis, have no signs or symptoms at all and 1 to 4 women will have this type of vaginitis disappear on its own. But if you have this type of vaginitis, which is also known as BV, there are a few different types of vaginosis treatment available to you.

Other treatments that can be used are of course antibiotics or vaginal gels and creams. In order for your doctor to determine if you do have this type of infection, there are several different tests that can be done. These tests can include: Whiff test, vaginal pH level, wet mount, gram stain, or an oligonucleotide probes test. Majority of these tests, your doctor may want to take a vaginal discharge sample from you, so that it can be tested to see if you have bacterial vaginosis. If it’s confirmed that you do, at that point he or she may prescribe you with Antibiotics or vaginal creams and gels.
